remove autobackup from startup? 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi - I don't like lots of stuff in my startup - can you tell me how to remove autobackup from my startup menu? I've gone into it via MSconfig, but can't figure out which .exe is the one for autobackup.

Otherwise the software is great

Thanks,

tess

Hi tess!

The file is called backup.exe and you can safely remove it from startup with msconfig.

There are two other ways to do this:

1. Try running PlainHTML setup file again, and when you reach the file associations page (full with checkboxes), you will find there the checkbox with Autobackup startup setting. Remove the checkmarek and finish the setup process. Your settings and documents will not be affected.

2. If the previous way does not work, save your data folder, uninstall and reinstall PlainHTML, and overwrite the data folder with your saved one.

The data folder is located at:

WinXP: C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\BWS\PlainHTML7

Vista/7: C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\BWS\PlainHTML7

where {username} is your windows user account name

Hope this will help.
