Tonight, i've found an altered PlainHTML setup kit on the internet, which pretends to be a software forum, but i've checked the download kit. As far as i investigated this matter, the setup kit proved to be a repacked installation, intended for unattended Windows installation, probably an illegal one.
Since PlainHTML's distribution conditions prohibit this kind of distribution (namely distribution with illegal software copies, distribution in altered packages [the official release always contains the BWS logo, and a license describing usage and distribution conditions]). The file is packaged in a file named ELiTE_AddOn_BeerPlainHtml70.7z, and it's size is inconsistent with the official setup kit size. Despite the altered setup kit is larger than the official one, it has lesser features (missing license agreement, missing file extension association settings, missing program launch at setup finish, missing design elements, such as a blue gradient background and a 24-bit unique design on the wizard) leads to a conclusion, that it may contain some kind of malware (trojans, worms or viruses). I've unpacked it and checked it for suspicious code, but the fact that i've found nothing is meaningless, as i don't have the resources to check it with more antivirus and security solutions. I strongly advise you not to download and DEFINITELY NOT install this package. Download the official version from this site instead. Add this page to your favorite Social Bookmarking websites |
